In general, the best time to select Boer goats for export is in the late spring and early summer (May, June, July) as the primary kidding season is from January through April. The best quantity and quality are available up to September. Many U.S. Boer goats have a high percentage of South African bloodlines, though many top goats have Australian and/or New Zealand genetics. Boers can range from good, commercial quality type animals to elite show animals. Prices will reflect the physical conformation of the animal as well as the depth of pedigree.
