Have you already sold genetics to a foreign buyer but need assistance in meeting the country's import requirements and making the shipping arrangements?

American Genetics'

Export Coordination Assistance You Need!

American Genetics International (AGI) provides administrative services to coordinate all aspects of a livestock, semen or embryo import and export shipments.  Our services relieve the buyer and the seller of the extensive coordination that is needed to ensure a successful shipment.

In addition, our goal is to protect the financial interests of both the buyer and seller - to minimize risk, keep overhead expenses as low as possible and to ensure that animals are purchased and sold through financially secure instruments based on performance by the parties involved.

Services can be provided at the request of either the buyer or the seller:

bullet

Calculate all import or export costs (cost of the genetics, trucking, port charges, consulate fees, insurance and ocean or air freight cost).

bullet

Prepare a Proforma Invoice for the C & F, CIF or FOB value of the shipment.

bullet

Obtain and provide the importer with any animal documentation required for submission of their import license applicant to their government officials.

bullet

For Shipments to be Paid through a Letter of Credit:

bullet

Prepare Letter of Credit (L/C) Instructions for the buyer to use in opening the L/C.

bullet

Review the L/C for compliance to the Proforma Invoice and Import License; request Amendments as required.

bullet

Process Assignments of Proceeds against the L/C for payment to the breeders (if required), the airline and any other required.

bullet

Prepare all L/C and shipping documents to comply with L/C and import license.

bullet

After shipment, submit L/C documents to the U.S. bank for negotiation of L/C; monitor bank's review to expedite process, resolve questions and finalize payments on Assignments.

bullet

Responsible for ensuring that all suppliers and service providers are paid as agreed  (truckers, insurance companies, airlines, quarantine and port vets)

bullet

For cash payments:

bullet

Monitor receipt of payments to ensure that funds are received prior to the animals leaving the farms

bullet

Ensure that all animal that are being paid have passed their health tests and are eligible for export.

bullet

Responsible for payments to all suppliers and service providers

bullet

Once the buyer has obtained his import license and the L/C has been opened, a processing and shipment schedule will be developed by:

bullet

Researching available dates for international transportation (aircraft and/or trucking) to determine tentative shipment date and making reservations;

bullet

Reserving space at quarantine facility and notifing the port veterinarian

bullet

Determining the date animals need to be health tested, the date blood needs to be at the lab, when test results will be available and the date export health papers need to be finalized and available to go to the Consulate for legalization.

bullet

Establishing date/time animals need to arrive at Quarantine.

bullet

Coordinate export health testing:

bullet

Distribute processing instructions to each breeder and health testing instructions to each veterinarian.

bullet

Coordinate with the testing labs to ensure that they are running the correct type of tests and to identify/resolve any problems before they can result in an animal being rejected due to health testing problems.

bulletProvide on-site coordination at the port of export, supervision of the port vet's inspection of the animals, monitoring feeding and the animals' physical health while they are at the export facility, coordinate with the animal handlers when loading the animals into the pens and onto the aircraft; coordination with the freight forwarder and transportation company.

The services provided will vary from shipment to shipment
depending upon the needs to the buyer and seller.
